Deja Debuchy

Why waiting for Debuchy, could be more costly for NUFC than getting the deal done and dusted!
Negotiations apparently started between NUFC and Lille before the Euro Championships kick off for Mathieu Debuchy. A fee believed to be around 4.5 million to get the French right back to NUFC was mooted, but down to the injury of Bacary Sagna of Arsenal, Debuchy was thrust in to become France's first choice right back for the Euro Championship. Hence Lille’s reluctance to push the deal on knowing the player’s market price could rocket if the player’s performances at the Euro Championship were to impress, which in reality is what happened. The Euro Championships happen and NUFC hope to push through a deal but Lille up the fee they want for Debuchy to around 7.5 million, a fee NUFC are unwilling to meet. NUFC have decided Debuchy is the right back they want for the coming season and placed a new 6 million bid, only for that to be rejected and for Lille’s chairman Michel Seydoux coming out and saying they have had enough and Debuchy is staying and are not willing to enter into negotiations with the NUFC anymore. NUFC are in need of a new right back as Danny Simpson is heading towards the end of his contract and every day that goes by his value is dropping in the transfer market. So with NUFC not getting the deal done and not offering another 1 million for Debuchy they could now potentially lose a potential 2 to 4 million altogether, as the later NUFC take to offload Danny Simpson. His value is dropping from what should be 2/3 million as the summer started dropping to around 1 million in the later days of the transfer window. Whatever happens this transfer window in NUFC search for a right back, it is a battle NUFC have lost, but may win the war in actually getting the man in Mathieu Debuchy.
