Potential transfer news that Joey Barton is to join League 2 new boys Fleetwood Town on loan for 6 months from Premiership side QPR. A great move by a ambitious Fleetwood Town, a Premiership player at your club for half of a new season in a new league. Shame is he’s suspended for 12 matches. Was Barton to stop at QPR he would be out of action till about November, but with League 2 playing more games at a faster rate, by going to Fleetwood Town he can get the 12 match ban out of the way by mid October. This is clearly cheating the system, something that the FA should straight away look to ban. Joey Barton has done wrong, and it wasn’t a minor incident, what he did should not take place on a football field or off a football field, hence him getting a 12 match ban. Barton should serve his ban at the club the ban was committed at and shouldn’t be able to transfer clubs to help him get back to football quicker. The other shameful act that will take place when Barton has passed his 12 match ban he will be instantly recalled back to QPR, without playing 1 game or Fleetwood Town, which makes the 6 month loan deal just a farce.
